The owner, Marianna is extremely passionate about her business, here's what she says;
"I'm Marianna, a professionally trained chef hailing from Slovakia. My home is in Giffnock, where I reside with my husband Andy and our two wonderful children. With a solid background of 5 years in a prestigious hospitality and management private school, I've garnered 28 years of extensive culinary and hospitality experience across various sectors within the industry.
I've also honed my skills as a baker. My culinary journey took root from my humble beginnings as a home-based caterer. The turning point came when I acquired the deli, a venture undertaken just a week prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has now thrived for over 3 years.
The assortment of products available at our deli bears my personal touch, born from my background as a caterer. Whether it's our delectable cakes, exquisite strawberry tarts, or the classic empire biscuits, each item has been lovingly perfected. From pakoras to fillings, our entire range boasts original recipes, meticulously crafted from scratch right here in our shop.
My upbringing on a farm in Slovakia laid the foundation for my profound relationship with food. The values of self-sufficiency were instilled early, as we grew our own vegetables, fruits, and even raised our own livestock for meat. This deep-rooted connection with food has remained with me throughout my life.
My unwavering belief rests in the power of freshly homemade take-away food. I advocate for a culinary experience where concerns about calories or chemicals simply fade away. At our deli, you can indulge in food that's not only delicious but also made with care, using the finest ingredients, because that's what great food should be all about"
